What is Shibori?
Shibori is an ancient Japanese technique dating back to the eighth century.
Meticulous airtight folds using yarn or bands create delicate patterns. There are endless varieties of pressure resist techniques, each creating a pattern almost impossible to replicate or control. Every detail inimitable.
Traditionally dyed with indigo, modern fiber reactive dyes now offer endless options for distinctive hues and color combinations.
Product Information
Each product is unique. Shibori patterns are unpredictable and distinctive in the best way– therefore no two pieces are exactly alike. Dye travels differently through each piece and all items vary in color and pattern. Because of variation in techniques, some pieces take longer to create, this is the reason why product pricing can vary.
Your purchased product design is exclusively yours. Each textile swatch is hand-dyed by Katie using 100% cotton muslin and fiber reactive dyes. All products are made and sewn in the USA.
